Geographic Data

Transportation and boundary data are available in ESRI Shapefile format as either statewide or county files. These data files are for use in geographic information systems (GIS) and are not directly viewable using Internet browsers or image viewing tools.

The files were created to support CDOT planning projects and have been compiled from various sources and scales. Metadata is provided to describe the information contained in the attribute tables and should be viewed before downloading any of the files listed below.

Note: Land Status data, while still available through CDOT's GIS tools, such as Maps2, is no longer distributed by CDOT. A recommended source for this data is the COMaP (Colorado Ownership Management and Protection) project of the Natural Resource Ecology Lab (NREL) at Colorado State University. http://www.nrel.colostate.edu/projects/comap/index.html
