Restrictions for Extra-Legal Vehicles or Loads CDOT Transport Permit Office Update November 20, 2009** NOTICE OF STATE OFFICE CLOSURE: Scheduled Furlough Day – November 27, 2009 Due to the current budget situation the Colorado Department of Transportation Permit Office will be closed on Friday , November 27, 2009, the day after the Thanksgiving Day holiday. The Permit Office will reopen for business on Monday, November 30, 2009 at 7:30 am. No status checks will be performed until 12:00 pm on Monday. This is the third of eight (8) furlough days scheduled for state employees this fiscal year. Please plan ahead! For best service please submit OS/OW applications early in the week of November 23, 2009, prior to the scheduled Thanksgiving and furlough day, to allow us time to process your OS/OW permit. We process applications in the order in which they are received and we have a 2 hour turn around time for single trips. Applications received after 3 p.m. Wednesday November 25, 2009 will very likely not be processed until Tuesday November 30, 2009 due to the closure of all state offices. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. OS/OW Loads are Prohibited from Travel when hazardous conditions exist. Hazardous Conditions include SNOW, ICE, MUD, ROCKS, WIND and REDUCED VISIBILITY. No Oversize Movement is EVER allowed where the Chain Law is in Effect. Overweight only are allowed to chain up and proceed as conditions allow. 	6, 14, 113, 138	In the City of Sterling Width, Height & Length restriction: No oversize permits may travel in the City of Sterling from 8 am to 9 am, 12 pm to 1 pm, and 5 pm to 6 pm every day of the week.
	25	MP 12.0 to 14.5 - 1 Mile S. of Trinidad to 1 Mile N. of the HWY 12 & I-25 Intersection Width restriction: No permits over 12 feet in the north and southbound lanes. This restriction is 24 hours a day seven days a week.
	25	MP 83 to 94 – Between Colorado City and Pueblo (North and Southbound) Width restriction: No permits over 14 feet from 7 am to 6 pm Monday through Thursday and 7 am to 4 pm on Friday.
	25	MP 179 to 181.4 – E. Plum Creek Parkway to 5^th St. in CastleRock (North and Southbound) Width restriction: No permits over 11 feet from 9 pm to 5:30 am. The approximate end date is December 31, 2009. Beginning March 22, 2009 through December 15, 2009 the southbound on ramp from Plum Creek Parkway will be closed.
	25	MP 257.5 to 262.0 – Hwy 34 Interchange (Greeley exit) to Hwy 392 Interchange (Windsor) Width restriction: No permits over 14 feet between the hours of 6 pm to 6 am Sunday evening through Friday morning. The approximate end date is November 30, 2009.
	34	MP 65.518 and 66.206 – Bridges over Big Thompson River Weight restriction: No permitted loads, legal weight loads only are allowed to cross these structures. Refer to chart at the bottom of the restriction report.
	34	MP 25 to 55 – Trail Ridge Road Closed for the winter season.
	34	MP 96 to 103 – From I-25 East 8 miles (E. of Loveland towards Greeley) Width restriction: No permits over 12 feet.
	34 BR	MP 0.5 to 4.7 – In Greeley from SH 257 to 71^st Ave. Width restriction: No permits over 12 feet. This restriction is 24 hours a day seven days a week. The approximate end date of this project is December 1, 2009.
	40	MP 131.89 to 132.76 – 13^th St. to 3^rd St. in Steamboat Springs Width restriction: Permitted loads over 14 feet must contact the project engineer (Justin) at least 24 hours in advance of travelling through this project. This way roadway control devices may be moved for the load to proceed.
	40	MP 233.1 to 257.6 – Winter Park to Empire (Berthoud Pass) Length restriction: NO loads over 70 feet.
**	44	MP 1.8 to 4.9 – Colorado Blvd to Hwy 85 Complete Closure of this section of highway beginning immediately through at least December 11, 2009.
	50	MP 41 – Jct. of Highways 50 and 141 (Eastbound Only) Width restriction: No permits over 14 feet. With new configuration of intersection load cannot make left turn from HWY 141 to HWY 50. Suggested route is I-70 to exit 26 then east on HWY 50.
	50	City of Montrose – at LaSalle St. Height restriction: No permits over 15 feet and 10 inches.
	50	MP 82.6 – Olathe Height restriction: No permits over 16 feet allowed under the signal on HWY 50 in Olathe.
	50C	MP 7.394 – St Charles River Bridge Width restriction: No permits over 11 feet beginning November 12, 2009 through July of 2010. This restriction is 24 hours a day seven days a week.
	50	MP 349.62 to 351.64 – Fowler East For Two Miles Width restrictions: No permits over 14 feet beginning September 15, 2009 through November 15, 2009. This restriction is on Monday through Friday from 7 am to 7 pm.
	50	MP 366.82 to 367.19 – The intersection of hwy 50 and 71 just west of Rocky Ford Width restriction: No permits over 14 feet beginning September 17, 2009 through November 15, 2009. This restriction is on Monday through Friday from 7 am to 7 pm.
	50/287	Intersection of HWY 287 and HWY 50 East in City of Lamar Length restriction: No permits over 90 feet traveling north on HWY 287 to eastbound HWY 50. Loads in excess of 90 feet in length should travel westbound on HWY 50 to 287 north to HWY 96 east to HWY 385.
	52	Just West of the Boulder/Weld County Line to the County Line Width restriction: No permit over 12 feet beginning September 28, 2009 through June 30, 2010. This restriction is for eastbound and westbound permits and is 24 hours a day seven days a week.
	58	MP 2.117 to 2.66 – in Golden (both directions) Width restriction: No permits over 11 feet beginning immediately through December 2009.
	60	MP 16.0 to 19.99 – ½ Mile North of the Jct. of SH 256 to the Jct. of US Hwy 85 Width restriction: Permits over 16 feet must contact the CDOT at least 7 days ahead of the move and must also be accompanied by the Colorado State Patrol through this area. 	66	MP 28.6 to 36.6 – Jct of Hwys 36 & 66 SE of Lyons to the Jct of Hwys 66 & 287 in Longmont Width restriction: No permits over 11 feet. Travel from 5 pm to 6:30 am is not restricted.
	70	MP 28.566 – 25 Road in Grand Junction (eastbound) Height restriction: No permits over 15 feet and 5 inches.
	70	MP 114.0 to 133.0 – Glenwood Springs to Dotsero (Glenwood Canyon) Length restriction: Loads that exceed 85 feet length must have a certified pilot car in the rear. Width restriction: Loads that exceed 13 feet must have a certified pilot car in the rear.
	70	MP 213.6 – Eisenhower Tunnel Width restriction: Permitted loads over 11 feet must pull over to get permission to pass through the tunnel. Height restriction: Loads 13’11” tall or less may now travel through the Eisenhower Tunnel.
	70	MP 274.76 – Intersection of I-70 and US 6, 265 (Brighton Blvd) RR and City Streets. Weight restriction: No permits that exceed the orange axle weights on the bridge weight limit map (see www.dot.state.co.us/truckpermits ) for color grid.
	70	MP 274.76 to 276.58 – Brighton Blvd. to Colorado Blvd. (Both directions) No permitted loads allowed on this portion of I-70 beginning immediately until approximately January 2011 due to construction.
	70	Exit 359 – Limon Height restriction: No permits over 15 feet 9 inches. Loads over 15 feet 9 inches tall may go around Structure G-22-BA at the junction of I-70 and HWY 24 by using the on/off ramp.
	76	MP 25 to 29 – Between Brighton and Hudson (both directions) Width restriction: No loads over 20 feet wide allowed. This restriction is between the hours of 6:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday through Friday only. This restriction begins immediately and will last until approximately December 8^th, 2009.
	76	MP 164 to 184.0 – Just West of Sedgwick to the Colorado/Nebraska Line (Eastbound only) Width restriction: No permits over 14 feet. This restriction is from 6 am to 7 pm Monday through Friday.
	92	MP 7 to 9.8 - East of Delta Width restriction: No permits over 11 feet. Loads wider than 11 feet must contact traffic control supervisor @ 970-946-3150 (Tami) at least two hours prior to arrival so arrangements for the passage of the load through the project may be made. This restriction begins Monday May 18, 2009 until further notice.
	96	MP 54.8 to 55.5 – 4^th Street in Pueblo (both directions) Width restriction: No permits over 10 feet beginning September 9, 2009 through approximately November 25, 2009.
	96	MP 114.543 – 4 Miles East of Sugar City All truck traffic of any kind is not allowed to cross this structure. This restriction begins immediately until further notice. Refer to the chart at the bottom of the restriction report.

	160	MP 438.252 – E. of the City of Kim Weight restriction: Structure O-25-H is still rated as a black structure. The weights are even less than the Bridge Map. Please refer to the bridge restrictions at the end of this restriction report.
	225	Northbound and Southbound Lanes of I-225 at Alameda Height restriction: No permits over 15 feet and 6 inches. Loads that are higher must contact the City of Aurora Police Department at least one hour before arrival at this intersection to arrange for a police escort to stop traffic so the load may exit and re-enter 225 without traffic congestion or accidents. 	265	MP 1.198 – Brighton Boulevard just north of I-70 Height restriction: The vertical clearance at structure # E-17-A has been lowered. Please see clearance changes on height map listed at the bottom of this restriction report.
